Combined with modern-day optics, including GM, LD, and XLD elements, results in a highly capable lens that is a reliable choice for discerning photographers. A BBAR-G2 Coating also helps reduce the impact of ghosting and flare.

Smooth Operation

An updated design features an improved surface finish that has improved grip and resistance to abrasions and fingerprints. The zoom and focus rings have been further optimized for smoother rotation for improved tactile control over the lens. Additionally, the lens is moisture resistant and has a fluorine coating on the front element to provide water- and oil-resistance.
